Qualifiers and Sources
This list has both the current and older (obsolete) Reference Qualifiers (once called Source of Payment). These codes identify the provider number type that is sent with a claim. For example, when you send your Medicare Number, the reference qualifier is "1C", telling the receiving carrier that you have used your medicare number.
